I've found this to be the best cad yellow deep - strong colour - high pigment content - makes really moody greys when mixed with ultramarine and white

Only downside is that they don't do oil based printing (ie etching and relief) inks / paints.

Always use this green for landscapes as can produce so many natural colours from it on its own and in mixes. Only draw back is not opaque.

I have no problems with these paints and they are exactly what I was hoping for to paint my skies, they have fulfilled expectations perfectly

Cette gamme de peinture ne correspond pas à mes attentes. Bien sûr, ceci n'engage que moi. Je classerai cette gamme en tant que milieu de gamme. La gamme de peintures Winsor 1 Newton contient toutes les couleurs que j'adore. C'est pour cela que je l'avais choisis. Mais j'ai été déçu de la qualité. Qui, je le répète est pour moi un milieu de gamme. Mais pas une peinture pour professionnels.

It,s not burnt sienna, It,s transparent mars oxide red PR101, as mars oxide red though its very good value and a good pure color, surprized that WN label it as burnt sienna, Blox Burt sienna is the best I,ve tried

Not a lover of W&N

apart from the tube caps which are too small and difficult to unscrew. As a result I am now leaning toward Rembrant as a first choice as their caps are excellent to unscrew.

Brilliant paint

Lovely soft creamy Cotswold stonet tone to this paint that will save a lot of mixing to get this tint.

I LOVE this colour!!

A fabulous dark where a 'black' is required, but also 'dilutes' down to replace ultramarine in dark mixes.

I assume this is a replacement for the 'old fashioned', lead containing Chrome green which I still have, in good condition, from years ago. It is the quality expected from this firm. Psssst! I still have Flake White too!

I tried this heritage colour out of curiosity, as very few demonstrators seem to use it, and I am glad that I did. It has a lovely, slightly orange hue to it, not as bright as the cadmiums but that is the point, it can be used thinned down as a good glaze, and is far better in landscapes than cadmiums as it makes an excellent range of greens in a more naturalistic manner. A very useful addition to the palette, and when choosing just one yellow for a limited palette for a field trip or short holiday, this is it, because it is so versatile. Love it.

This is a very bright pigment and very useful for so many applications. A little goes a very long way.

Excellent transparency making for a really good glazing colour for some large areas of vegetation and animals, and it is maybe like an orange/red transparent version of light red if that makes sense, but obviously nowhere near as powerful. It is a very useful colour and it seems to be unique.

I think that this version of CY Medium is the best on the market: not too orangey, and has a lovely glow to it.

I find this far more versatile than Cadmium Red Light and its got the usual Cadmium coverage and a great mixer for oranges.

I have used different whites including Michael Harding's, but I always come back to this white for it's covering power. The best in my honest opinion.

My favourite deep red

Always a good, reliable product.

A remarkable, subtle colour which has extended the possibilities of an earthy palette that has always had difficulties with the more prismatic yellows. A Moderate to slow dryer - I'd love W&N to include this pigment in their Griffin Alkyd range!

My go-to white! Love the consistency and covering power of this pigment.

If you're thinking of purchasing this, you should be aware that while it is a beautiful colour, the paint is very transparent and doesn't seem to contain much pigment and is easily lost when mixing, meaning that you are likely to use a lot of it. It's probably best applied pure for shadows, etc.

Paint brushes had no plastic tube protectors to ensure hairs remained in shape. Big mistake that needs to be rectified for fine and very small size brushes - particularly water colour.

I paid for next day delivery. The delivery company lost my parcel. It arrived five days later, long after the datevI needed it. I was not refunded the extra charge I paid for the next day delivery. Terrible terrible service.

Generally very good but some canvases (Jackson's own) from previous order have been poor - the frames twisted on a couple making one impossible to use. Very annoying. I don't want to waste money that way so may well shop elsewhere for my canvases in future.

I would like your description of products to tie in with the manufacturer. I illustrate my point below: W & N artists canvas board: W & N describe it as "Artists' Canvas Board". I couldn't find this product on your website - instead I found a W & N product called "Winsor & Newton Canvas Panels". "Is a canvas panel the same as a canvas board" I thought. Perhaps not? Also I wanted "Artists" quality, not students. So the absence of the word "artists" and "Panel" instead of "Board". Gave some uncertainty. You might not agree, but W & N for example used to do "students" quality items and "artists" quality items. Hence I phoned you up and you assured me that they were the "Artists" quality. If you had given the 'exact' W & N description, I would have been able to identity these without any question. Sorry to be a pain.
