Love Old Holland paints. Strong, permanent colours and always a thick consistency. Alizarin Crimson is such a great colour. Wonderful for deep reds, especially with a touch of ultramarine, and mixed with white it gives subtle shades of pink.

Extremely strong tinting. I use a dab of a dab, thinned, and the colour remains pure. Very heavy tube(relitavely), due to the high pigment content.

Good for warm and cool colours. warm mixtures remain brighter than other brands I have used.

I was looking for a titanium white oil paint with no added zinc, from a colourhouse that adds no fillers to its paints and that was available to buy at a good price. Old Holland fitted the bill. Excellent quality paints at a reasonable price from Jacksons.

This product is far superior to oils I have used in the past and have made a big difference to my painting. They are thick and creamy, they stay on the canvas much better than others and you need much less as they are intense. The colour is rich and mixes well with other colours.

Old Holland Oil Paint is in my opinion the best oil paint there is! Apart from an amazing choice of colors what tips the balance for me is the high pigment content, the thick, slightly stiffer consistency and the opacity of the paint-much more than other brands.This suits my alla prima style of working-I am not an artist who uses thin, transparent glazes very often , which is why I prefer Old Holland over Michael Harding.Quality does not come cheap, but it is worth it , and a little goes a long way! I find the shade of warm grey light to be a perfect base for painting warm toned clouds in our English skies...

I have tried most oil paints over a period of many years. You will not find better than Old Holland. The cadmium yellow medium is so clean and pure you will not want to buy any other brand. It has a low oil content so you will have to know all about drying oils and mediums. I have had my tube for over ten years - careful use of drying oils and mediums will give me another ten years. I have clicked poor but only because the shipping calculator is problematic and I am waiting for certain things to be fixed like the weight on the Lukas oil paint calculator and the weight of the linen calculator.Otherwise the customer service was very good but I need to be able to calculate the shipping accurately and quickly.I look forward to this issue being sorted out.It woulod also be helpful if the shipping could be calculated as you go instead of at the checkout, because by then its a nuisance to go back and take things off the list.

Old Holland are pricey, but consistently of the best.

Brilliant colour, but I'm not so pleased with the texture. I find it a bit dry.

Very thick from the tube, but spreads surprisingly well. The colour is good, dense and opaque. The best thing about this paint is its very quick drying time. The quickest drying tube of oil paint I have. This is great since I bought it for underpainting.
