Thinner than Golden Heavy Body Acrylic colors, Soft Gels are moderately pourable. Hold only slight peaks. The recommended acrylic to function as a glue for collaging. Soft Gel Gloss is ideal for glazing and other techniques where transparency is desired. Soft Gel Gloss is useful as a non-removable isolation coat, applied over an acrylic painting prior to varnishing (must be thinned with water - 2 parts Soft Gel Gloss to 1 part water; DO NOT USE Soft Gel Semi-Gloss or Matte for this purpose).
Gel Mediums offer many ways to build texture. Golden offers five consistencies from the most viscous Extra Heavy Gel to Soft Gel. Each gel is available in Gloss, Semi-Gloss and Matte finishes. They can be used to create glazes, extend paint and change finishes. Gels are essentially colorless paint, as they utilize the same 100% acrylic polymers as acrylic paint. Gels are also excellent adhesives for collage and mixed media, they dry with excellent flexibility with chemical, water and UV resistance.
All Golden gels are opaque when wet but dry clear.

Fantastic product that allows me to put the thinnest of papers, covering a large surface area without it wrinkling or warping in any way. Yep, i am using it as a glue base at the moment! I have tried various glues and similar products but this by a country mile comes out tops for quality and performance. What a versatile pot of magic! From image transferring to mixing with acrylic paints as well as using it as a glue! The possibilities are endless!!!
