Pompeii Red (PBr7) is a dramatic rusty red-orange that is made from earth that has been heated to attain a burnt color. This earth creates a granulated texture in the paint. This texture is wonderful for depicting sunlit hills or rough material folds. When mixed with Carmine a lovely vermillion with a slight pink undertone is produced.
