Art Board art panels protect your artwork from damage, caused by the flexing and cracking of paint films. The solid structure prevents the surface from being accidentally dented, torn or damaged by mishandling.
Wood art panels are more permanent than flexible fabric. A properly prepared Art Board painting panel will have a longer life than stretched canvas or other thin flexible supports.
Natural Maple’s top surface is made of hand selected Maple hardwood veneer. Great care is taken to ensure that this surface is free of knots, seams or voids and that it is sanded meticulously to be ready for gesso.
Art Boards smooth reflective surface refracts light differently than canvas, making colors more brilliant and vibrant. The firm consistent surface is perfect for smooth blending of colors, fine brushwork, and minute detail.
The rigid 1/2 inch panel will always remain stable. The panels inner core has three layers of aspen hardwood that are glued in alternating directions. Waterproof glue keeps each layer from expanding or contracting. The front and back veneer is made of natural Maple hardwood, the face veneer has no seems, voids or knots. The back of the panel has recessed dovetailed slots for easy hanging without the need for picture wire or framing.
All Art Boards are pre sanded and ready for gesso. They are made to securely mount flush to the wall. The art panels easily hang on a single nail or screw - no need for frames or picture wire. The rigid surface is perfect for all painting mediums, including collage, oils, acrylics, egg tempera, encaustic, icon painting, mounting prints and works on paper.
The 5-layer construction prevents movement. Waterproof glue keeps each layer from expanding and contracting. Maple painting surface has a consistent tight wood grain. There are no knots or seams. All art panels are pre sanded and ready for gesso.
Natural Maple Uncradled The ˝ panel is stiff and will not bend. Panel has recessed slots in the back for easy hanging in either direction. Sold in Lots of 12 per size.
Natural Maple Cradled features double thick 1" construction. The cradle back acts as a brace, providing a convenient lip for hanging and increasing structural integrity. Sold in Lots of 6 per size.
